Program
Friday 29th
The Program starts with a dinner at 8 pm in a taberna that offers excellent food. (Some 400m away walking distance from the Parador). The place is reserved for us alone and it hosts exactly our group.
It was already an ordeal to start meals at Middle European time so 8pm was the earliest we could manage. We advise you to arrive in the Parador earlier in the afternoon so you have time to rest before dinner.
Dress code: smart casual.
Saturday 30th
We have organized a walk through the town on Saturday morning, after breakfast (starting at 10 am). Sigüenza lies at around 1000m and the Parador in particular is at the top of the town. There is some walking up and down to do, so we advice you to bring flat and comfortable shoes to wear both in the evening of Friday and for the guided tour through Sigüenza on Saturday and also on Sunday.
End of September it can get chilly so bring a sweater and a jacket just in case.
At around 12:15pm we will have a light lunch with “raciones” (“portions”) and some typical Spanish “tortilla” and “ibéricos” in a typical “plaza” of Sigüenza. After lunch you will have free time to rest or see something more of Sigüenza.
At 6 pm the birthday party starts with a cocktail and a dinner at the Parador. There will be food, drinks and music in quantities. You are not supposed to go to bed before 12:00!!!
Dress code: cocktail dress for the ladies, suit or blazer for gentlemen, no need for ties.
Sunday 30th
On Sunday we advise you to have a very light breakfast as the program goes on …
We will be picked up near the Parador at 10:45 am and we will go all together in a bus to visit a bodega in a nice place nearby. The road to the bodega is very pretty and you will be able to appreciate typical landscapes of Castilla La Mancha. At the bodega, we will have an introduction to their wines and their processing, and we will end up the visit with some wine tasting and degustation of Spanish cheese and wild boar sausage.
From the bodega, at around 2:15 pm we will depart to our next station: a typical Spanish country restaurant where we will taste the very local specialities as a late lunch, starting at the “normal” Spanish lunch time: 3 pm.
We will depart back to the hotel at around 6 pm.
Dress code: casual
We guess there will be no need for dinner….
